At the bottom of the screen are two demonstration lessons of the Know-Power learning system. The system is unique in that it teaches and tests at the same time and provides an objective measure of the mastery level the student achieves. To do this, the system records both accuracy (percent correct) and latency (the time it takes for the student to answer questions correctly). These two measures quantify the learning level achieved as no other method does.

Reminiscent of the Socratic method, Know-Power lessons consist of a series of questions that contains all relevant facts about a particular concept. Students respond to questions as quickly as they can, and if they meet the criteria of Percent Correct Answers and Correct Answers per Minute, they move to the next lesson. If they do not, they repeat the lesson as many times as necessary, until they meet the specified criteria. This teaching procedure is both efficient and effective, and it is perfectly suited to distance learning.
